How Blinds Are Measured

Hardware Colour
We have two standard colours for hardware: White – RAL 9016 60% Gloss (which is used when no colour is specified) and Black – RAL 9005 30% Gloss.
We also offer custom RAL powder coating for an extra charge. Custom RAL quotes only allow for standard K7 RAL colours, if your chosen colour doesn’t fall under that collection it would be wise to inform the person processing your order or quote to see if the colour can be done for an extra charge or if it isn’t available.
Hembars
Each blind system has it’s own standard hembar, and then on top of that other hembar options. Unless specified otherwise, hembars which aren’t fabric wrapped will match your chosen hardware colour.

Rooflight Handing
To find the left and right hand side of a rooflight (either physically or mentally), place yourself so that the top and bottom boxes are facing away from you. position yourself at the bottom box and face towards the top one (so that if the blind were to start closing, the hembar would be coming towards you).
Once you’ve placed yourself in this position relative to the blind (again, either physically or mentally) the left hand side of the top headbox is on your left, and the right hand side is on your right.
In the likely event that this explanation is too convoluted and fiddly to comprehend, we’ve supplied a couple of handy drawings that should help clarify things.

Light Gaps
The end of our rooflight blinds (where the hembar meets the cassette box), has a slight gap between the hembar and the edge of the box. This is covered if you’re using the L-Angle fixing shelves, but needs to be taken into consideration if you aren’t and want to achieve full blackout.

CRANK HANDLES

No Control Drop
When there is no control drop provided, the finished handle length will be 230mm shorter than the blind drop when hanging flat.
Control Drop
If a control drop of 2000mm is provided, the total height of the crank itself will be 2000mm (so excluding the bracket, gear, and universal joint).
Separate Crank Handle
When a separate crank handle is ordered. The total height of the crank handle will be exactly equal to the height specified in the order.

FIXING PROFILES
25mm x 25mm: For use at the bottom of blackout blind side channels.
30mm x 20mm Box Section: For fixing behind side channels in out of square opening.
L-Angles: Supplied as standard when rooflight blinds are not concealed to create shelf for easier installation.
127mm x 50mm: KuroLok 125 RL.
127mm x 50mm: KuroLok 100 RL & KuroLok Twin RL standard Orientation.
75mm x 50mm: All Side Channels.
230mm x 50mm: Can be supplied on request for KuroLok Twin RL Standard Orientation.
